AI search has become one of the hottest investment targets in consumer AI. Exa Labs raised $250M at a $2.5B valuation backed by Andreessen Horowitz, while Parallel Web Systems (led by ex-Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal) raised $100M at a $2B valuation led by Sequoia. Other startups like Tavily and TinyFish are also competing in the space. Established platforms like Amazon, LinkedIn, and Reddit are also integrating AI search. ChatGPT currently dominates AI-powered search, but OpenAI's divided focus and Google's ad business constraints may create openings for specialized startups.
